Salvation Plain and Simple
A GREAT POSSIBILITY - - It
is possible through Jesus Christ to have assurance that when you die you are
going to heaven and to have a full and meaningful life right now.
A GREAT PROBLEM --
Every member of the human race is born with a sin nature "For all
have sinned and come short of the glory of God" . Romans 3:23. Mankind
is universally lost. Sin separates mankind from a righteous God, not
only now but eternally in hell. "For the wages of sin is death; but
the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" Romans
6:23.
A GREAT PROVISION --
The one true God has revealed Himself to the world through Jesus Christ. God
has provided through Jesus Christ the only way of Salvation. God
loves mankind so much that He gave His life to pay the penalty for sin. "For
when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For
scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man
some would even dare to die. But God commended His love toward us,
in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans
5:6-8.
A GREAT PRIVILEGE --
God gives us the privilege of being saved from our sins. You must
repent of your sins (" Unless you repent you will all likewise perish" Luke
13:3) and
believe in the Lord Jesus Christ ("Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and
you will be saved: Acts 16:31).
Faith and repentance are different
sides of the same coin. When
you turn in faith to Christ, you turn from sin. To experience this
forgiveness the Bible declares we must REPENT of our sins; be sorry and be
willing to turn our life over to God.
A GREAT PRAYER --
It is possible for you to be saved right now. The Bible says, "That
if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and will believe in your
heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with
the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth
he confesses, resulting in salvation' Romans
10:9-10.
You can express the faith that is in your
heart by praying a sincere prayer like this:
"Thank You, God,
for loving me, a sinner, and for sending Your Son to pay the penalty
of my sin. Right now I put my trust in His death and
resurrection for my salvation and receive the eternal life that You offer me
through Him. Thank
You for hearing this prayer, cleansing all my sin through Christ's blood,
and accepting me now as Your Child. Teach me and direct me through
Your Word and Your Spirit to discover Your purpose and will for my life,
Amen"
A GREAT PROMISE --
You can be sure you are saved. Salvation is a matter of faith, not
feeling. God's
word is our assurance. The Bible says "For whosoever calls upon
the name of the Lord shall be saved" Romans 10:13
You
can count on God to keep his promises.
God wants you to be sure you
are saved. The
Bible says " And
this is the testimony; that God has given us eternal life, and this life
is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have
the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to
you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you
have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of
the Son of God" John
5:11-13
God says it!....... That settles it!...... I
believe it!
